Privacy Policy
This section explains, in general terms, how PEAQ Performance collects, uses, and protects personal data in connection with this website and the PEAQ Performance program, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable German data protection law.
Data controller
Company legal name, address, email is the controller responsible for the data described here.
What we collect
- Application data you provide — name, date of birth, contact details, guardian details, discipline, competition history, links or social media handles you choose to share, and your written responses
- Website usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy)
- Any information you send us directly, for example by email
Why we process it
- To assess applications and manage the sponsorship relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- Based on your consent — for example, to use an athlete's name, image, or story for promotional purposes (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
- For our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving this website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Applicants under 18
Many of our applicants are children or young adults under the age of majority. Where an applicant is under the age of digital consent that applies in their country of residence — this ranges between 13 and 16 across EU member states, and is 16 in Germany, under Art. 8 GDPR — we require the consent of a parent or legal guardian before processing that applicant's personal data, and all further communication involves that parent or guardian.
Sharing your data
We may share relevant parts of your data with PEAQ, our partner network (for example coaches, training centers, or sponsors), or service providers who help us run the program — only as needed and, where required, with your consent. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep application data for as long as needed to consider your application and, if you're accepted onto the program, for the duration of your participation plus a reasonable period afterward — or until you ask us to delete it, subject to any legal retention obligations.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@peaqperfomance.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
03
Terms of Participation
These terms describe what participation in the PEAQ Performance program does and doesn't involve.
Nature of the program
Participation in PEAQ Performance is a discretionary sponsorship arrangement, not an entitlement or a guarantee of specific results, continued support, or any particular level of funding. Applications and ongoing participation are evaluated individually.
Application & acceptance
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. PEAQ Performance may request additional information, references, or a trial period before confirming support.
Duration & review
Support is reviewed periodically and may be adjusted, paused, or ended at PEAQ Performance's discretion, with reasonable notice given wherever practical.
Use of name, image & story
With the consent of the athlete — and, where the athlete is under 18, their parent or legal guardian — PEAQ Performance may use the athlete's name, image, competition results, and story for promotional and marketing purposes, including on this website and across PEAQ's channels. This consent can be withdrawn at any time; withdrawal does not affect material already published in accordance with the consent previously given.
Conduct & confidentiality
Athletes and guardians are expected to engage respectfully with PEAQ Performance staff, coaches, and partners, and to represent the program in good faith. Both parties should treat the details of a sponsorship arrangement as confidential, unless otherwise agreed.
Liability
PEAQ Performance supports athletes but does not control or guarantee the outcome of competitions, coaching relationships, or third-party services provided by partners. To the extent permitted by law, PEAQ Performance's liability is limited to cases of intent and gross negligence.
Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by German law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which a participant resides. PEAQ Performance may update these terms from time to time; continued participation after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the update.
04
Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
The majority of the athletes PEAQ Performance supports are children or young adults. Their safety and wellbeing come before any competitive or promotional outcome.
Guardian involvement
All direct communication with an applicant or participant under 18 involves a parent or legal guardian from first contact onward, whether that contact starts with an application or with one of our scouts.
Vetting & conduct
Staff, coaches, and scouts who work directly with young athletes are vetted appropriately for their role before being given that access, and are expected to follow a code of conduct built around respect, appropriate boundaries, and the athlete's wellbeing.
Reporting a concern
Anyone — an athlete, a parent, a partner, or a member of the public — can raise a safeguarding concern with PEAQ Performance directly at safeguarding@peaqperfomance.com. Concerns are taken seriously and handled promptly and confidentially.
No tolerance
PEAQ Performance does not tolerate abuse, harassment, or exploitation of any athlete in its program, and will end its relationship with any staff member or partner who violates this policy.
